Hello everyone! Another week, another email.
This week started with interviews with President Vance. They were good, nothing too crazy.
We had a really tender moment while knocking this week. We met this super sweet lady who's husband and son both recently died in a plane crash. I was able to share Alma 40:12 and talked to her about not only the peace her husband and son are experiencing but the peace she can find through Christ as well.
Wednesday Joey had his baptismal interview and it went well! (Sister Stoker and I got boba to celebrate 💜) We also got to go to a member's house and we ate dinner and she shared her mom's conversion story with us which was super sweet.
Thursday all our lessons happened which was awesome!
Sunday, JOEY GOT BAPTIZED!!! This was by far the highlight of my week! We found Joey at the end of my first transfer in this area and it has been so special seeing him grow and feel the spirit. When he bore his testimony at his baptism he talked about how he could see the faith and spirit of the members and how that has really touched him. This made my heart so happy! Such a great day!
For pday we played some volleyball with the district on the island, got papusas, and chilled at a dock while the elders fished.
Spiritual Thought: One of the talks me and my companions studied this week was, "The Mediator" By Elder Boyd K. Packer and this quote stood out to me,
"There is a Redeemer, a Mediator, who stands both willing and able to appease the demands of justice and extend mercy to those who are penitent, for “He offereth himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law, unto all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and unto none else can the ends of the law be answered.” (2 Ne. 2:7.)"
Isn't it amazing to know that because of Christ we don't have to suffer the demands of justice as long as we have broken hearts and contrite spirits. I am so grateful for my Savior and the love and mercy he shows each and every one of us.
Love you all!
