4 Months Down

Hello everyone! I hit my 4 months this week which is just crazy!

Not a ton happened this week but I'll tell you a few things that did:
- We had strawberry days and had over 6000 guests at the sites! Strawberry Days was so fun though! We served strawberry shortcake, ran a 5k, and we got to go to the Nashville Tribute concert!
- We had lots of bus tours! At least 3 almost every day, but it keeps us busy and makes the days faster.
- Sister Evans and I passed off the Smith Home tour so I can now officially say I know all the Ohio tours!
- I've been able to do tons of mini exchanges with the new sisters and it has been such a good opportunity to get to know them. They're all so sweet!
- We got our air conditioning fixed!!!
- For p-day today we went grocery shopping, got Chick fil a (the peach shake is back!), and are getting our car oil changed, and Sister Evans trimmed my hair.
Spiritual thought: In the talk, Christ: The Light That Shines in Darkness, Sister Eubank stated,  "I testify you are beloved. The Lord knows how hard you are trying. You are making progress. Keep going. He sees all your hidden sacrifices and counts them to your good and the good of those you love."
Always remember that you are doing enough and that Christ is proud of you and is grateful for you.

Love you all!

I'm back in Kirtland

Hello everyone! Per usual more change happening here. I have been transferred back to Kirtland and I have been called to be a STL.

My last few days in Hiram were eventful in a few different ways.
- We caught a mouse! I'd like to pat myself on the back because I did not scream and the seniors thought I wouldn't be too freaked out to take it outside. But I was not going to put my hand near it so luckily one of the other sisters was willing to put it outside. It did how ever get eaten by something... when we went out to leave and put it in the trash only it's tail and some fur remained.
- I had an amazing last day of tours in Hiram. We gave a virtual tour to Sister Hendrix's family, a tour to 3 sweet sisters, and the spirit was so strong in the revelation room of my last tour. I couldn't stop crying because the spirit hit me and told me that what occurred there was so true!
It's been an adjustment being back here in Kirtland. It's been very busy. We've had buses nearly every day and it's currently Strawberry Days so this weekend we're expected to have around 5000 guests! Because of this craziness we treated ourselves to some frozen yogurt after a shift.
- Yesterday I got to serve at Strawberry Days. We served strawberry shortcake and it was so fun!
Today for pday we are going to walk around Strawberry Days and I'm excited for that.
Sister Evans is my companion for the next week till our next round of transfers.

Spiritual thought:
From this last general conference Patrick Kearon said, "Just let it in. You are His child. You are beloved of Him. Do not complicate it."
We are all children of God and he loves us so much! All we have to do it to let him and to invite him into our lives.

Thanks for all the love and support!

It's June!

Hello everyone! I can't believe it's June already! My time in Ohio is flying by.

We had transfers so this is my first full week with Sister Hendrix and it's been so fun! She's learned the tour so fast!
Overall this week was pretty chill.
- We had our Next Chapter Dinner for the Waites on Wednesday. I'm gonna miss them. They were such a fun and funny couple.
- On Thursday we had a bird fly into the Carriage House and let's just say Sis. Hendrix and I were a bit caught off guard. I guess the bird wanted to hear about the Johnsons too.
- On Friday we took the new sisters to Mainstreet On The River and as usual it was so good. We love the owners there.
- On Friday we also had a game night with the Robinsons. It was so fun! Definitely lots of laughs.
- We gave the most tours I think I've given since I've been at the Johnson Home, 6, and we were open for half the day (Sunday) and they were all pretty big groups.
- Something not the best was Sunday Sister Hendrix and I were making dinner and pulled out a pan and found old mouse poop on it...yum.
- P-Day we went to an Amish Market and Amish an donut shop.
- Tonight we're watching The Fighting Preacher with the seniors for FHE.

Spiritual Thought:
In Doctrine & Covenants 133:52 it says,
"And now the year of my redeemed is come; and they shall mention the loving kindness of their Lord, and all that he has bestowed upon them according to his goodness, and according to his loving kindness, forever and ever."
There is so much power in Christlike love and kindness. When I give tours to people who put effort into being kind, engaged, and sincerely try to get to know me, it makes such a difference. It creates a relationship and allows there to be more sincerity throughout our short time together. So be kind to those your around because those small moments make a big difference on those people's lives.

Lots of change

Hello! So on Friday we had a surprise transfer so Sister Stewart is leaving to Kirtland today and Sister Hendrix is going to be my new companion. I'm sad that my time with Sis Stewart was cut short but I love sis Hendrix so it'll be fun. I am a bit intimated to train especially since I've just been here 2 weeks but I know the Lord will help me through it.

We had a few days that were SO dead. We just sat for hours. But then we had a bus tour and had about over 330 people come! We were so dead! But they were good tours.
We went to Mainstreet On The River which is this family owned restaurant and they are so kind! Sister Stewart and I shared a BLT pizza and it was honestly SO good. They gave us a free sample of their pb pie and it was SO good. We went the other day to get a pie and they gave it to us for free plus a free can of whipped cream. They really are the best!
We went this gorgeous hike call the Ledges and it was so fun! It looks like The Lord of The Rings.
Me and Sister Stewart were able to give a virtual tour with both our families yesterday and it was such a perfect way to end our time together! It was so fun! Thanks to everyone who joined!
Yesterday we had a Memorial Dinner BBQ with the seniors here and it was so good and so fun! It really reminded me of home.

Spiritual thought:
In every tour we share Doctrine and Covenants 76:22-24
"22 And now, after the many testimonies which have been given of him, this is the testimony, last of all, which we give of him: That he lives! 23 For we saw him, even on the right hand of God; and we heard the voice bearing record that he is the Only Begotten of the Father— 24 That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God."
These verses are so powerful! It is a great reminder to us that the Lord lives. It's so incredible to share this in the space where it happened, where Christ and Heavenly Father appeared.

Thank you all for the love and support!

Eat Before Jump Roping

Hello everyone! Not much has happened since Thursday but it was a good few days...mostly.

-Friday Sister Stewart passed out and hit her head pretty good while we were jump roping and we had to go to the ER and we didn't leave till 2:30. But she's okay and we got Freddy's after so I'm a happy camper.
-Saturday we gave some good tours and had gamenight, it was so good seeing everyone! And Stewart officially passed me off 🥳
-Sunday was my first day at the Hiram ward and it was good!
-Pday today was so good!!! We went to TJ Max, Old Navy, and Chipotle and went on a pretty walk.

Spiritual Thought: Sister Stewart and I gave the spiritual thought at our FHE with the seniors tonight and we talked about how we all need each other and our individual gifts to fulfill God's will. It's important to remember that you don't need to be the same as someone else, God needs you individually.
My next pday is the 31st so talk to you all then!
Love you all!

Trainer to Trainee

Hello everyone, you might be confused by the subject, let me explain:

On Friday I was given a new assignment to serve at the Johnson Home in Hiram, so I moved up here Monday, so my greenie got a new trainer and now I'm being trained again. My pday is now Mondays again starting next week (assuming the seniors don't need to trade). I'm super excited to serve in Hiram! I've really wanted to serve there, plus Sister Stewart is my trainer and I love her so much! I am sad to leave everyone, especially Sister Hendrix, she's really become my 2nd half, but it's okay cause I have game nights every Saturday.
Other events that took place these last few days:
-We did a service project at Fairport Harbor. We cleaned the museum there. After we were done cleaning we were told the history of the Saints coming into Ohio there, which was pretty cool. We were also able to go up the light house!
-I had my last Sunday at the Perry Ward. But my new ward is a 30 second drive compared to a 30 minute drive which is nice.
-It's been such a fun experience learning this tour. The Johnson Home has lots of fun designs so it's interesting the whole tour. And the stories and events that took place here are very special.
-Today for pday we went to Amish Country and we got some homemade candy/chocolates and lunch. We're going on a little hike later which is gonna be fun.
Spiritual thought:
Being out here I've really learned that God knows what we truly need. I was sad to leave everyone in Kirtland (and I still really miss them) but when I got here in Hiram I just felt peace and I've been so happy here. It's really showed me that God truly knows what is best for me. It's the same for all of us.
Love you all! Talk to you next week!

P-Day Switch

Hello everyone! My pday is Thursday now till they switch it again lol. This email will probably be a little longer since I've had a few extra days since my last email so bare with me.

This week was full of a lot of emotions.
I'm gonna switch things up and start with a spiritual thought: God truly does listen to our prayers and if we actively try to be more like the Savior and do what God wants of us, we will be blessed.
That kinda leads into what my week was like. I won't lie part of this week was kinda rough. But as I prayed to God and really put in effort to be like Christ I've been able to see God helping me through it and answering my prayers. I'm gonna share a few experiences I had this week that really shows that.
- I was giving a tour in the temple and I just felt like I was doing awful. I had a hard time feeling the spirit and was feeling bad that I wasn't giving this group a spiritual experience. So I was praying so hard for help that the spirit would be with me. I get to the end of my tour and I was feeling a little better but still disappointed. Per usual I asked anyone if they had questions or comments before we left the temple and this man rose his hand hand and said he did. He bore such a strong testimony. During it I learned that Joseph Smith was his 3rd great grandpa. He told us how sister missionaries were the ones to bring his mom to the church. He also spoke of how grateful he was that the church now has ownership of the temple so missionaries like me can testify of Christ there. Then he was telling me how grateful he was for me. That validation was exactly what God knew I needed and I felt so blessed and seen by God in that moment.
- I also had a tour with a group of some kids. My initial thought was not excitement because tours are not an easy thing for kids to sit through. But to my surprise I start my tour and this little kid who I'm guessing was about 5 excitedly introduced himself to us. And as the tour went on he was very attentive. When we entered the School of the Prophets I started to talk as I usually do but then the kid rose his hand and I called on him and he said, "Is this where we learn about how Jesus loves us?" And in that room we share a quote about John Murdock seeing Christ and how he felt His love during that vision. So I was very impressed by the fact that this kid knew that was coming. Then at the end of my tour I always ask if anyone has any questions and he once again rose his hand and this time he said, "I know this is true" it was a such a simple but tender statement.
- I'm gonna combine 2 other special tours in 1. We gave one to a lady who works for a contracting company involving building temples (she was here for the Cleveland Temple) and then a different tour we did had a man from England (who sounded just like Prince Eric from the live action Little Mermaid) and he had served in the Cleveland mission in 1990. They were both so kind and I learned so much. They helped me remember that though I might not see the difference in people's lives I could be planting a seed for the future.

Through all of these I just wanted to show how God does really listen to our prayers and he will bless us as we mindfully do what he asks of us.

- Today for P-Day we went to a zoo and I fed a giraffe!

Thank you all for the love and support!

✨️Temple Day✨️

Hello everyone! We had a temple pday this week so that's why you're hearing from me today. A lot has happened since my last email so...
